This week has been crazy. I went right from the very-right of Michigan to the very-left and haven’t stopped since. In between all of that, I switched my blog over from Blogger to WordPress. I’m still learning about it, but I’m so much happier with how it all works and looks. Plus, I broke out the actual camera for this travel post!
Traverse City is beautiful. It’s located on Lake Michigan, the Western coast of Michigan. It’s known for it’s cherries, which were beyond delicious and it has some amazing fudge shops.
My family tries to make it a thing to go once a year or once every other, and it’s one of my favorite traditions.
The first day we got there, we just stayed at the hotel and my brother & I walked around the beach and took some pictures.
The second day was when the rest of my family arrived (grandparents + little cousin) and we explored more of the city. It was filled with pizza, pretty views and fudge.
Guys, this town is so photogenic! I love it.
Day three was more beach-ing and shopping. However, we visited the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes around dusk that night. Honestly, if you’re looking for a beautiful place to watch the sunset, this is it.
The dunes are also home to one of the biggest sand hills I’ve ever seen. Seriously, there’s a sign that warns you to go down & climb back up at your own risk, because you’ll be the one paying the rescue fees if you can’t get back up. I tried to showcase it in my pictures, but it’s something you need to see in person to believe.
Sadly, everyone left the next day except for my mom and brothers!
However, we took the opportunity to drive out to the peninsula that’s located right by the bay we were staying in. It’s home to cherry fields and wineries, breweries and distilleries. There were little stands selling fruit all along the drive, and we had to stop at one of them!
At the end of the peninsula was a little lighthouse and a beach.
Day five was leaving-day and it was a sad one. I hate leaving TC and that will never change. However, we got to stop and see a sunflower field on the way home.
The summary of this week: amazing. Hoping you guys loved the new look as much as I do,
