Hi friends! I’m on vacation while you read this, but I wanted to still post something to keep up with my schedule. So, I did a small round-up of my favorite Christian/Catholic books and a few that I haven’t read, but want to.
If you’re looking for something new to read, why not make it a religious book? It’s never a bad time to grow in your faith!
WHEN GOD WINKS AT YOU
This is a book I’ve recommended before on the blog, but wanted to put it on this page as well. It is so good. The book is a compilation of true stories from people who have experienced miracles. This is one of those books where you can read two pages at a time, so it isn’t a heavy or long read. It’s also great if you’re looking for a pick-me-up in your faith life.
THE LIFE OF CHRIST
This was a book that was recommended to me by my old boss, and it’s not your easy, 21st-century read. Actually, it’s quite the opposite. However, if you’ve ever had any hard questions about being Catholic, you’ll want to read this. It goes over the essentials of the faith and makes a case for the basics/why it’s all so important to understand. I could only read a page or two of this at a time, because it’s a thick read. Each sentence honestly makes you go…wow. I can’t say enough about how knowledgeable Fulton J. Sheen is.
DISCERNING THE WILL OF GOD
I’ve also talked about this book on my blog before, but I love it so much! This is such a great read if you’re going through a big decision in life. Maybe you’re not sure whether to get married or wait, go for one job or the other, or something way smaller. This is the book you want next to you. It’s going to walk you through how to pray for life changes & you’ll be glad you have it next to you.
UNINVITED: LIVING LOVED WHEN YOU FEEL LESS THAN, LEFT OUT AND LONELY
I saw this book recommended on a blogger’s website that I read, and I need to get it. So, no, I haven’t read it, but it’s on my list (and I think it’ll be on yours too!) It caught my eye because, as soon as I read the title, I knew I’d felt that way one too many times. This books says that it’s going to walk you through how to get past those moods and emotions, to a place where you know you’re loved by God. I know I could use this book, couldn’t you?
UNDAUNTED: DARING TO DO WHAT GOD CALLS YOU TO DO
I stumbled across this book after looking up the one above this and love the idea of it. This author takes you through her own life story of brokenness, to a place where she found she could break through it all and listen to God’s call for her life. We all have baggage and hard moments in life, and it’s at those times that God feels sometimes far away. I know I could use a book like this for those moments and so I’ll be purchasing it along with all of you!
So, I’ve mentioned a range of books here that I think will be great for furthering your relationship with Christ. However, what are some other ones that I missed?! I know there’s a lot out there and I’m excited to see what everyone else is reading!
